April first gave workshops over 15 years ago, teaching about socio-political issues to highschool and CEGEP students. She was recently a sessional Professor at Ryerson University teaching How to Create Inclusive Art Scenes. When invited, she speaks on panels and gives guest lectures on issues related to music and community. April is a qualified elementary school teacher.
With Leah Gold, April has an art collective called Hijinks. They teach art through creating works with groups of people and piecing it all together into one big masterpiece.

Cross-cultural and cross generational program to create a reflection of what we eat by using storytelling, audio recording, printmaking, drawing. All artworks produced will be part of a final art book that will live at the library.
